Gola Helmet Mask

Women’s society mask of typical hemispherical form, with an unusually smooth and fleshy carved facial plane intersected by long deep eye slits, with small nose and mouth, and contrasting against the deep rhythmically carved lines of the coiffure. Dark brown-black matte patina, partially abraded surface, tips of hanging hair plaits lost.
